Ayurvedic Support for Diabetes in Pune

Diet, routine and medicine to support the management of diabetes.

In brief

The clinic’s programme for diabetes is a plan of diet, daily routine and Ayurvedic medicine that supports the management of type 2 diabetes. Dr. Nileema Shisode, M.D. (Ayurved) in Kayachikitsa-Panchakarma, plans it at Shree Skin & Hair Clinic on Senapati Bapat Road, Pune. It works alongside the care you already receive, not in place of it.

What the programme includes

  • A history of diet, activity, sleep and the medicines you take
  • A diet and daily routine made for you
  • Ayurvedic medicine
  • Panchakarma, where the doctor finds it indicated

What to expect

Diet, weight and activity have a large effect on blood sugar in type 2 diabetes. Keep checking your sugar levels as usual, and bring your reports so that progress can be seen in numbers.

What it does not replace

Do not stop or reduce insulin or tablets on your own. Any change to them is made by the doctor who prescribes them, on the strength of your readings. Type 1 diabetes always needs insulin.

Why this clinic

It is meant for type 2 diabetes. Type 1 diabetes always needs insulin.

How is progress measured?

By your own sugar readings and laboratory reports, which you should keep bringing to the clinic.
