What happens in a sitting
- The skin is examined and the settings are chosen
- You wear protective goggles throughout
- The laser handpiece is passed over the area. You feel quick, warm snaps
- The skin is cooled and sunscreen is applied
Aftercare
Mild redness or warmth for some hours is common. Use sunscreen daily and keep out of strong sun between sittings, because freshly treated skin darkens easily.
When laser is not the right choice
Laser is postponed over tanned, sunburnt, broken or infected skin. Tell the doctor about any medicine that makes the skin sensitive to light, and if you are pregnant. For some concerns a peel or skin polishing does the job more simply.
