What to expect

A scalp that is painful, boggy, oozing or scarred, or broken hairs with scaling in a child, should be seen without delay. Some scalp infections leave permanent bald areas if they are not treated in time.

Does dandruff cause hair fall?
A flaking, itchy scalp and the scratching it causes can increase hair fall. Treating the scalp helps.
Can dandruff be cured permanently?
It can be controlled well, but it tends to come back, so some regular scalp care is usually needed.
