Hair Fall Treatment in Pune
Finding the cause first, then diet, herbal medicine and procedures where they are needed.
In brief
Hair fall has many causes: stress or illness some months earlier, hormonal change, poor nutrition, scalp disease and inherited thinning are the common ones. At Shree Skin & Hair Clinic on Senapati Bapat Road, Pune, Dr. Nileema Shisode, M.D. (Ayurved), PGDCC, first finds the cause and then treats it with diet, herbal medicine and the clinic’s own hair-care preparations, adding procedures where they are needed.
Finding the cause
The same symptom needs different treatment in different people. The consultation covers how the hair is being lost, your diet, sleep and stress, recent illness, the menstrual cycle and pregnancy in women, medicines, and the state of the scalp.
- Telogen effluvium. Heavy shedding all over the scalp, two or three months after stress, illness or a hormonal change.
- Pattern hair loss. Gradual thinning at the crown or parting: see pattern hair loss.
- Patches. Round bald patches: see alopecia areata.
- Scalp disease. Dandruff or infection: see scalp treatment.
How hair fall is treated
- Diet and correction of habits
- Internal herbal medicine and hair oils and preparations made at the clinic
- Shirobasti and Shirodhara
- PRP and dermaroller or dermapen, where the hair needs them
What to expect
Hair grows slowly, about a centimetre a month, so any treatment takes three months or more to show. Shedding after stress or illness usually recovers once the cause has passed.
When to see a doctor promptly
Hair that comes out in handfuls over a few days, a scalp that is painful, scarred or has pus, or hair loss with tiredness, weight change or irregular periods needs examining soon, and may need blood tests.

Questions patients ask
How much hair fall is normal?
Losing some hair every day is normal. It becomes a concern when you see clearly more than your usual, or the scalp begins to show.
How soon will hair fall treatment work?
Shedding often slows within some weeks, but new growth takes three months or more to show because hair grows slowly.
Do I need PRP for hair fall?
Not always. Many people need only diet, medicine and scalp care. The doctor advises PRP when the hair needs it.
